How to Rise To The Occasion — Stewardship
“You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.”
Rising to the occasion requires capitalizing on an opportunity of a lifetime within the lifetime of the opportunity. It demands surpassing previous personal bests to establish new records. It calls for occupying an arena or a stage that supersedes your qualifications.
Studying the greats that performed at a high level in these scenarios, I uncovered a common thread that sowed their narratives together, preparation before elevation. Which often comes in the form of stewardship.
Personally, I’m in a season of preparation. Earlier this year, I realized that being the CEO of a Family of 25 does not only serve the purpose of cultivating a loving culture amongst my cousins and I, it also functions as my leadership training for when I’m CEO of a company.
Surprisingly, despite having the foresight to see the purpose of this season. I still struggling with practicing stewardship.
Stewardship — effectively managing your Time, Talents, Resources, and/or Money.
Towards the end of last year, after reading the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, I heeded the advice of the author Stephen Covey and began crafting a personal mission statement.
